NGO TV – Gir Community & Conservation Initiative
NGO TV, the YouTube channel of Helping Tree Foundation, undertook an expedition to Gir to explore wildlife conservation, local communities, and lesser-known heritage sites.
The team studied the challenges behind lions entering nearby villages, explored historical sites, and gathered tourist feedback on initiatives such as Gir Safari.
During the visit, the team met Ramiben, a widowed mother of four whose family lost its primary source of income—a cow—to the Lumpy Skin Disease outbreak. After verifying her circumstances, Helping Tree Foundation, with support from donors, provided the family with two cows and calves.
Today, the growing herd has helped restore the family's livelihood, providing a sustainable source of income and a more secure future.
